Day 01

Early morning departure for Candaba Wildlife Conservation Park in Sitio Simang,  Barangay Visal in Pampanga. Candaba is a complex wetland of water ponds, swamps and marshes with surrounding areas of grassland and arable land. The entire area is usually flooded in the wet season and dries out during the dry season. Candaba Marsh has a wide variety of wetland birds including the Philippine Duck, Purple Swamp hen and Pheasant-tailed Jacana plus a large variety of egrets, herons, bitterns and migratory waterfowls.

Next, proceed to Bataan Peninsula which lies along what is known as the East Asian-Australia Flyway, and is an attractive stop-over for migrating forest and water birds. There are 3 bird watching areas here: Puerto Rivas-Ibaba, known for dried and smoked fish, which has a preserved thick mangrove forest, grassland and wetland areas that serve as favorable roosting grounds for crows, waterhens, rails, kites, doves, herons and egrets; Tortugas- it’s mangroves and mudflat are excellent roosting and feeding grounds for waders and waterbirds such as Wood Sandpiper, Great Egret, Whimbrel, Whiskered Tern, and fishpond and wetlands that have become ideal habitats for various types of migratory and resident birds. While resident birds can be seen all year round, massive numbers of migratory birds specifically flock to the site from September to March. Dinner and overnight in Bataan.  

Day 02

After an early breakfast, depart Bataan for a 45-minute drive to the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Drive to hill 394, Nabasan (Group4) trail, the Triboa Mangrove Trail, and Apaliin Trail for a rolling bird watching tour. Dinner and overnight in Subic.


Other activities in the area: trekking, jungle survival adventure, historical tours, cultural tours, nature tours, diving, swimming, golf, horseback-riding, spelunking and shopping.


Day 03

After breakfast, continue bird watching in Subic. Mid-morning departure for Hundred Islands in Alaminos, Pangasinan. Composed of 123 islands and islets scattered off the waters of Lingayen Gulf, the site is teeming with abundant marina life and vegetation which attracts various species of migratory and local birds. After 3 hours land transfer, arrive in Alaminos, Pangasinan. Rest of the day at leisure or avail of the optional activities like kayaking, island hopping, swimming and diving. Overnight in Pangasinan



Day 04

Boat ride to nearby islands for bird watching. Here you can spot waders and waterbirds such as rails, terns, herons, egrets, sandpipers and other waders. Proceed to Bangrin Marine Protected Area at Barangay Apurao, Bani town of Pangasinan. The area is composed of 37-hectare sanctuary, and 5-hectare fishery reserved. About 10 mangrove species are found I this coastal ecosystem area. The forest also serves as breeding ground for fishes, crustaceans, and other marine organisms.


Enjoy a 30-minute boat ride across Tambac Bay going to the boardwalk structure and mangroves. The 300-meter boardwalk was constructed on the front periphery to allow environmental enthusiasts to move around the mangrove forest and observe different kinds of birds at close range. Among the birds that can be spotted are the Purple Heron, Rufous-Night Heron, Asian Golden-Plover, and Philippine Duck. Proceed to Puerto Del Sol Resort in Bolinao Pangasinan, your accommodation for the night.


Day 05

Rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy the pristine sands of Bolinao until afternoon departure for Manila.
